Manali's main street, The Mall, quite unlike its namesake in Shimla, is a noisy scene of constant activity, fronted by the bus station, several shopping markets, a line of hotels and restaurants, and travel agents. It is more of a busy commercial street with modern concrete blocks of hotels that spill over with tourists in the peak season.
